Trying Korean Skincare with Murmura

Hi everyone! I’m back again with another skincare post (shocker!) - but this one’s a little bit different, as I’m going to be sharing with you all some Korean skincare products! If you read my previous post, you’ll know that I’ve been loving trying out different skincare items from around the world. I’ve never tried any Korean beauty products, despite hearing lots of good things about them, so I was super excited to be contacted by the team at Murmura to try out some Korean goodies! Murmura is a UK website which stocks all kinds of Korean beauty products, from makeup to skincare, from some of the best Korean brands. It’s a great and easy way for all of us over in the UK to try out Korean beauty products.

I was sent some fab skincare products which are specifically tailored for my oily/combination skin, despite even telling them what skincare type I had, so I was very pleasantly surprised! I received 3 lovely products: the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil, Charcoal Egg Soap and the Jeju Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay Mask. So, let’s get into the review of these products!

Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil

You guys probably know already that I love myself a cleansing oil, so I was very excited to try this – especially as it says it is for oily/combination skin. The Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil contains a natural rice water solution which brightens the skin and cleanses without irritation. The texture of this is different to other cleansing oils I’ve tried, as it actually does feel like water when you first pump it out of the bottle. However, once you rub it into your palms and then apply it onto your face, it feels lovely and smooth. It was great at taking off my face makeup really easily and quickly. My skin felt so soft when cleansing after using this! This is definitely a fave for me to add to my little cleansing oil collection.

Charcoal Egg Soap

As I have oily and acne-prone skin, I always love using products that contain charcoal, as they work great with my skin. This Charcoal Egg Soap has a deep cleansing effect and is formulated for oily skin, helping to reduce acne and blackheads. I’ve never used a cleanser that is in the form of an egg, so I was very intrigued as to how to use this and whether or not I would actually like it! I have to say, it is something to get used to, as you have to rub it in between your palms for quite a bit before it lathers. It does apply quite creamy to the face which I like, and it makes your skin squeaky clean, which is also a bonus. I’m not sure if this did anything to reduce my acne, but it didn’t seem to irritate my skin in any way, so that’s good enough for me!

Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay Mask

This Self-Heating Mask contains volcanic lava which purifies skin, with a warm sensation to open up the pores. It also contains City Defender Complex to help fight the effects of pollution. This was another product which I was very intrigued to try, as I’ve never tried a self-heating mask before, particularly one formulated with volcanic lava! What I really love about this product is the packaging, as I love the little applicator at the top. I think this is something that a lot more skincare products should have, as it really makes you feel like your skin is getting a good deep cleanse. Upon applying this, the texture was quite different to what I expected, as it wasn’t a thick clay-like texture compared to other clay masks I’ve tried. It’s quite runny so you have to work quickly at blending I round your face. I applied this on my T-Zone and could feel it heating up straight away. I then blended it in with the little applicator, all around my T-Zone, for around 3-5 mins and found that my skin had got used to the heating sensation, so I couldn’t really feel it any more, but that was fine with me! After washing this off, my skin felt nice and soft and clean, and I didn’t have any new breakouts.

So that’s it! Thanks to the lovely Murmura for sending me out these Korean skincare goodies. Make sure to check them out on Instagram and have a look at their website if you want to purchase any Korean goodies!

Have you tried any Korean skincare products?

Thanks for reading, lots of love,

  10. They come in cream, lotion and oil form. Oily based moisturizers are good for severely dry skin whereas a cream or lotion is a better choice for the face as it will leave the face feeling less heavy and greasy. To get good results, use a moisturizer right after bathing to seal moisture into your skin. best skin care
