March Favourites
Can you believe March is over already? The months always seem to fly by for me nowadays. I'm praying that the weather here in the UK starts to brighten up soon, as I'm really not feeling snow, rain and cold temperatures in the Spring time.
However, to get me through these dreary days, I've been trying out and loving some new beauty products which I thought I would share with you all, so let's get started!
Primark PS... Chocolate Cheek Palette
Primark have really been upping their makeup game these days, so I had to get on board with the hype and test one of their products. The 'Chocolate' products are similar in looks to the Too Faced Chocolate bar palettes, and I must say, they do have super cute packaging! I decided to pick up the Cheek Palette as I couldn't resist the adorable heart shapes. The packaging is nice and slim and it contains 2 blushers (1 shimmery and 1 matte), a matte bronzer and a shimmery gold highlighter. It's the perfect palette to take with you while travelling, as it has everything you need for sculpting your face. The powders also smell of chocolate, although it is quite an artificial scent compared to the actual Too Faced ones, which are made with real cocoa powder. It is a nice little touch though! The powders themselves have a light texture when swatched, and are surprisingly pigmented for the price (only £4!!!). Obviously they're not the most pigmented things I've ever swatched, but for the price, i really don't think you can go wrong with this palette, and the shades do show up very nicely on the face. I have to say that the blushers are my favourite out of all the powders, as they are both lovely colours and are probably the most pigmented. The highlighter is quite glittery and gold, but it does still provide a nice sparkle to your cheekbones! The bronzer is a nice shade too, as it isn't too dark or orangey for my extremely pale complexion!
Please excuse my not-so-great swatches. Swatching is something I still need to master!
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter - Peach Lights
I'm a sucker for a good highlighter, so when I spotted these Vivid Baked Highlighters in Superdrug for only £3, I had to pick one up. Mine is in the shade Peach Lights, which has a gorgeous pinky, pearly tone and looks so beautiful and glowy on the skin. It has a good deal of pigment but still looks natural and not chunky and glittery (as you can see in the swatch above). I think it's a great shade for people with pale skin like me! It also has lovely packaging and the swirling effect looks beautiful.
*3ina The Ultra Volume Mascara
As some of you may know, I'm a huge fan of 3ina Makeup products, as they're a great price and most of their products are vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free. Not to mention they have great quality products which work so well! I'm also a huge mascara fan, so I was super excited to try out this Ultra Volume one! My favourite type of mascara wand is a plastic one, as I find it's better at gripping my lashes and I find the mascara doesn't dry up as quickly with this type of wand, so I was really glad this was a plastic wand. I also love the shape of the wand with the different curves, as it is great for gripping each and every lash and helping them to curl. It does what it says and helps to really volumise my lashes, but also makes them lovely and long, which I love! It's also £9.95 which I think is a great price for a high street mascara.
Mac Lipstick - Kinda Sexy
My Mac lipstick collection is slowly but surely growing, and this is my most recent addition. My favourite shades to wear are nudes and pinks, so I chose to go for this gorgeous peachy-nude shade. It is the perfect shade for every-day wear as it isn't too dark or bright, just a nice light peachy-rose nude! It also has a matte formula, which means it's very long lasting. I really love Mac's matte lipsticks as they are not drying at all, but are super creamy and pigmented.
*Lola Makeup Eyeshadow - Shade 042 & Eyeshadow Brush
Lola is a makeup brand designed in the UK by beauty experts and makeup artists and it was the partner for Season 12 of Britain's Next Top Model. They pride themselves in having cruelty free and professional products which you can easily use at home. I was super excited when I was contacted to try out some of their products, and they really do live up to expectations. My absolute favourites are this gorgeous satin eyeshadow in the shade Tea Rose and this beautiful fluffy brush which I love for applying my crease colour. The eyeshadow is beautifully soft with a satin finish and has great pigment. The colour is a lovely peachy brown shade with gold shimmer throughout, and it looks super pretty on the lid. It's actually a very different shade to any eyeshadows I've tried before, which makes me love it even more! The brush is the perfect size to fit in your crease and blend the eyeshadow beautifully, as it is super soft. I also really love the black, matte packaging, super classy!
*Anatomicals Anti-Pollutant Face Mask
I have a few of these lovely Anatomicals face masks to try out, and this is the first one I've used. Firstly, I love the hilarious and catchy names that each mask has, as it makes them so unique and cute! Also, these little sachets are perfect for taking with you when travelling, as you actually get a good amount of uses out of them. I've used mine 3 times so far and I think I'll get another 2 uses out of it! This Anti-Pollutant Face Mask is formulated with cilantro and orange extract and claims to reduce the effects of pollution, whilst strengthening cells against environmental damage. I have to say, this mask stings a fair bit within the first 3 minutes or so after application, but that dies down quickly and it feels completely normal! Once removed, my skin felt extremely clean and fresh, as well as super soft, and there was no signs of irritation or redness. I also noticed that some of the spots I had that day, were much more reduced the day after! I'm definitely looking forward to trying the rest of their face masks, as this one was a huge success (not to mention they're super cheap!).
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
Anyone who knows me will know that I absolutely love Caudalie skincare. Their products are so luxurious and contain natural ingredients which are great for their skin. They are also super gentle, which is perfect if you have sensitive skin. The dreamy name of this product is what initially drew me in, and I can report it definitely lives up to the name! I've been using this on my cheeks as they can get a little dry in the colder weather, and it has made my skin so soft. The texture is very light, it literally feels like a sorbet on the skin. It provides a great deal of moisture, yet sinks into the skin straight away, which is perfect if you have oily skin or you just don't like having a sticky, heavy moisturiser on your face. It doesn't have a strong scent either, so again, it is perfect for sensitive skin.
And there we have it! That's all the beauty products I've been loving in the month of March. Let me know what products you've been loving below!
Love,
Andrea x
